I found this website (whom is a web designer) and I think this has got to be one of the most addictive websites.

In my third year I want to develop more in web design and create myself two webpages and learn the next level of information, as I quite enjoy designing webpages.

When I got in contact with many design companies, a lot of the feedback of what they would like to see more of is branding/ manipulating type.

So in third year I think I would also like to set myself a branding brief and create a new identity for a company. Such as this design below of which I really like!

Over this summer I am going to set myself a personal brief:

I want to rebrand my photography business: Kimberley Jayne Photography

I am going to keep the name the same however I want to create:
- A new logo
- Business cards
- Flyers
- Stationary ie headed paper, invoice, wedding contract.
- Website design

I want to make this a 3 week brief and start it 15.08.2011 (after placement)

My design style tends to be quite simplistic, however this design takes it to a whole new level, yet it works and is very effective!

I LOVE this piece of work by Projekt. The style of graphics I would like to go into and the sort of designer I am links closely to this with the combination of type and photography.

I would also love to visit Projekt and intend to, hopefully!

So... I managed to get a placement!! YEY!! It is at a design studio based in london called M.

They deal a lot with graphics for events, which really interested me!

First week of placement has been really good!
I have never been so nervous to do something in my life.

I got sent this in an email and it is so true of this experience for me..

I started of being very nervous to go to London of all places, to head into the working environment I want to go into, but now I am just curious of how they function and do things, and I am learning all the time.

I firstly had to grasp the trains and tubes, but now after 5 days I think Iv got a routine.

This week I have created poster adverts for the RAF, and also a small booklet. I have also been given a brief to design an animation that will be on a 63m x 4m LED backlit wall at a Xerox event. And finally for this week I have been asked to create a new template design for M's presentation boards of which they pitch to clients with.

I feel like I am learning A LOT about the way in which things work, working as a part of a team more, and also focussing on designing to pitch to clients also with your ideas.

So overall a pretty good week.. and apparently pub lunch on a friday!

This is the kind of graphic design I would like to produce in third year. I love design of which use photography and type together effectively which I think this does. 

I want to focus more in designs for fashion also, as this is one of my main interests within graphics and I feel I havn't done so up to this point. 

I really love the work of  Johanna Bonnevier! This is the style and type of graphic design I want to create and focus in on more through my third year within university.

This summer I am going to spend enjoying photography and collecting photographs to then use within my designs within graphics focussing into fashion and editorial design.

Random.. But this would have been a genious idea for our brief of: Make an alphabet reflective of you.

This year I really need to focus in into what it is I actually want to do, what I want to create, where and who I would like to work with.

I really really like these animations!! I think they are so effective with the right song choice, use of imagery/video and type..

I would love to create something along these lines. This would definitely be a big project for me, having not done a lot of editing videos, however this could open the oppourtunity for a collaborative brief?
